OnePlus has the reputation of being one of the fastest manufacturers to release the update to the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system for its smartphones but with Android 11 it is wasting more time than expected and other competing companies, such as Samsung, they are doing better.
At the moment Android 11 has only arrived on OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T but in the past few hours the team of the Chinese manufacturer has announced on the official forum that soon many other users will be able to “taste” the new version of Google’s mobile operating system.
OxygenOS 11 with Android 11 coming to the OnePlus 7, 7T and Nord series
Next week OnePlus Nord will receive its first Open Beta build of OxygenOS 11, that is the version of the Chinese manufacturer’s customized interface based on Android 11 while for the release of the stable version it will be necessary to wait for user feedback, so as to be able to optimize the ‘upgrade and fix any relevant bugs that may be encountered.
As for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series, the manufacturer’s team hopes to be able to release the first Open Beta of OxygenOS 11 shortly after, explaining that the delay is related to some decryption problems encountered during the port of Android 11 and for the resolution of which it is collaborating with Qualcomm (currently a closed test of a build is in progress).
The team of the Chinese manufacturer does not forget about the other devices that still await the update, such as OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus Nord 10 5G and OnePlus Nord 100, for which the works are still in progress: to find out when OxygenOS 11 will be available for these devices, therefore, it will be necessary to wait for further updates from the developer team (probably the new software version will arrive between the first and second quarter of 2021).
Finally, nothing to do for OnePlus 5 and 5T, devices for which the release of Android 11 is not expected.
