Huawei continues the development of its new HarmonyOS operating system, an alternative to Android that should allow the Chinese giant to continue to operate even with the American ban in place (although things could change after the election of Joe Biden); the beta phase continues, and after the announcement on December 16, here are the updates via OTA.

HarmonyOS 2.0 arrives via OTA to beta participants

Users in possession of a Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, or MatePad Pro who have requested access to the beta are in fact receiving a new OTA update that brings HarmonyOS 2.0 with it. The 4.04 GB update brings version 2.0.0.33 (SP2DEVC00E2R5P90) of the new “made in Huawei” operating system to smartphones.

In the attached screenshot there does not seem to be a detailed changelog of this update, with Huawei expected to expand its tester base in the course of 2021 to give more body to the HarmonyOS project.

The operating system that we have already been able to see at work in a short video, in which the EMUI-branded graphics seem not to have changed much compared to when there was the green robot. All that remains is to wait for the next moves by Huawei, which will surely arrive in the course of 2021.
